Physical Activities/Field Trips

Depending on the weather will dictate on how much time we can spend outside each day. We will take advantage of the nice days and may be out there a little extra, who says you can't learn outside just like you learn inside?

During those rainy or freezing cold days we will make sure to participate in physical activity indoors. Daily we will have dance time and when we are stuck inside we will even do some yoga! Little bodies need to wear off that extra energy so that they can focus, so we will get creative depending on what the weather is! Students will also visit the local rec. center for their preschool drop in at the gym. The gym offers toys ranging from gymnastics equipment, hockey, basketball, ride on toys and so much more.

In the Spring/Summer and Fall we will participate in outdoor field trips. In the summer we will visit Hewitt's Fun Farm on a weekly basis. Children are able to visit with the animals, enjoy the outdoor activities and gain a sense of independence as they try new things. Students will also visit parks around Barrie, Ontario exploring, playing and best of all learning in a new environment.

Other field trips include a community playgroup, the library, smart moves, creative café and much more. Our program is about teaching educational and social but most importantly life experiences. The students love exploring with their friends and learn the importance of listening in a different environment to their teacher and in a group. Learning isn't just in the classroom as a toddler/preschooler, it is so much more.

How fun! Our backyard is designed to provide opportunities for both physical and imaginative play. Students are encouraged to try the climbers, swings, slides, to play in the cedar house, the small trampoline, water tables, ride on toys, trucks, etc! We spend as much time as we can in the backyard when the nice weather is here- we even do our bookwork at the picnic tables!
