My name is Chantal Nelson and I am the owner/operator of Building Blocks Preschool. My husband and I purchased our home with the intention of starting my business. Teaching and working with children is my passion and I am thankful that I get to love what I do everyday. The Preschool area is designed to offer the comfort of a loving home environment in addition to a school atmosphere. Students are provided with their own desk areas, cubbies and sleep area. Building Blocks is a family and students are made to feel as though this space is their home away from home.
My program is a combination of my training in Education and past experience. I am continually educating myself on child development and work hard to provide the best opportunities for my students. Working on individualized programming, students are prepared for kindergarten both educationally and socially. Imaginative play and building on life experiences are so imperative at Building Blocks Preschool for the growth of my students.
Monthly calendars, daily communication and updates on student progress are offered as part of the program. For a child to feel their happiest and be able to have the comfort to grow it is essential that I work with parents as a team.
My love for teaching, desire to inspire children to love and learn and my passion for offering high quality care is the premise for Building Blocks Preschool. As one of the first educational home preschools in the Barrie area, my experience over the past years has helped me grow as an educator and individual. The children I have cared for have taught me so much and I am thankful that I can use that experience to continue as I learn through this journey. Learning is never ending and here at Building Blocks Preschool I want to offer the opportunity of a loving environment for your child to learn while they teach me something textbooks can't.
