Classroom

Our classroom is set up to prepare students for kindergarten. Areas such a building, cars, dolls, etc are divided to help children find and access things that they want to play with. Students are responsible for tidying up the toys that they have played with.
Circle time is where students work on basic concepts through song, activities and discussion. The calendar helps with counting, days of the week, months of the year, patterning and many other key concepts that will be taught in a kindergarten classroom.
Around our classroom is our library. It is stocked with books that cover a variety of subjects and also divided by important children authors. Our books are very important in our class and our overflowing library is a testament to that!

The house center is used for other imaginative games such as store and restaurant. Children use the toy food, plates, dolls and many other things to transform this make believe play area into their own imaginative reality. The discussions and ideas are truly amazing!

Our classroom is part of our home. Students are our family and therefore, it is important for them to understand that we must care for our things. All students treat our toys with respect, share with their friends and tidy up their messes. Important life lessons and strong social interactions are happening on a daily basis at Building Blocks Preschool.
